🪓✨ The Golden Axe and the Honest Woodcutter

Part 1: The Axe That Fell into the River

Once upon a time, there lived a poor woodcutter named Dara. He was poor, but he was hardworking, honest, and kind. Every morning, Dara went into the forest with his old axe to cut wood and sell it at the market.

One day, while Dara was cutting down a tree near a river, his axe suddenly slipped from his hands and fell into the deep water.

“Oh no! My axe!” Dara cried sadly.

He sat beside the river, feeling hopeless. His axe was the only tool he had to earn money and support his family.

Suddenly, the water began to sparkle. ✨ A mysterious man appeared from the river.

“Why are you crying?” the man asked.

Dara told him the whole truth.

The mysterious man dived into the river. After a moment, he came back holding a beautiful golden axe.

“Is this your axe?” he asked.

Dara looked at the golden axe and shook his head.

“No. That is not my axe. My axe is just an old iron axe.”

The mysterious man smiled and disappeared beneath the water again.

A few moments later, he returned with a shining silver axe.

“Is this your axe?” he asked.

Dara shook his head again.

“No. That one is not mine either.”

The mysterious man smiled and went into the river for the third time…

What will he bring back for Dara? 🤔

Part 2: The Test of Honesty

The mysterious man returned from the river carrying an old iron axe.

Dara’s eyes lit up immediately.

“Yes! That is my axe!” he said happily. ❤️

The mysterious man smiled warmly.

“You could have chosen the golden axe or the silver axe, but you told me the truth. Because you were honest, I will give you all three axes.”

Dara was shocked.

“All three? But I cannot accept the golden and silver axes. They are too valuable!”

The mysterious man replied,

“You deserve them because you chose honesty over greed. Take them home and use them wisely. And remember to help others whenever you can.”

Dara thanked him sincerely and returned home with the three axes.

Soon, the story spread throughout the village. Everyone admired Dara for his honesty.

However, a man named Vichit heard the story and became jealous.

“If I do the same thing, I can get a golden axe too!” he thought.

The next morning, Vichit went to the river with his axe. He intentionally threw his axe into the water and pretended to be very sad.

“Oh no! My axe has fallen into the river!” he cried.

Suddenly, the mysterious man appeared again.

He held up a golden axe and asked,

“Is this your axe?”

Vichit immediately answered,

“Yes! Yes! That is my axe!”

The mysterious man looked at him silently…

Would Vichit’s plan succeed? 😈

Part 3: The Price of Greed

Vichit eagerly reached for the golden axe.

But the mysterious man did not give it to him.

“You are lying,” he said calmly. “That is not your axe.”

Vichit became frightened.

“I… I am sorry,” he admitted. “I only wanted to become rich.”

The mysterious man looked at him and said,

“Dara received his reward because he was honest. You cannot receive the same reward through lies and greed.”

Vichit lowered his head in shame.

“I understand now. I should never have lied.”

The mysterious man then showed Vichit where his real axe had fallen. Vichit retrieved his old axe and thanked him.

From that day forward, Vichit stopped being greedy and began working honestly.

Dara also used his golden and silver axes wisely. He continued working hard and shared his wealth with poor people in the village.

Everyone in the village learned an important lesson:

🌟 Moral of the Story

Honesty may not always bring an immediate reward, but it brings trust, respect, and lasting happiness. Greed and lies can make us lose what we already have.

And from that day on, Dara and Vichit lived peacefully, working honestly and helping others.

The End. 🪓✨❤️
